Rippin Chix was founded in 2001 by ALISON GANNETT. Alison is a self-sufficient farmer, World Champion Extreme FreeSkier, pro mountain biker, award-winning global cooling consultant, and founder of the multiple non-profits, including Save Our Snow and Cooking to Conquer Cancer. In addition to her busy careers as an athlete, athlete ambassador and keynote speaking, she adores coaching Rippin Chix Camps – women’s steep skiing and biking around the globe.
Frustrated learning to jump cliff’s correctly on the free skiing US and World Tours, Alison created Rippin Chix Steeps Camps so that other gals could learn the methodology she taught herself throughout the years of filming and competing. For Mountain Biking, she was only given the advice “if you don’t come back bloody it wasn’t a good ride”. She then applied her same baby breakdown learning steps to her mountain biking so that others wouldn’t have to learn as painfully as she did.
Rippin Chix is unique in the fact that it is for real women and girls who want to focus on skiing and/or biking and not filet mignon and yoga. Alison wanted to create camps that were affordable yet also taught by Champion Chix Coaches. Each coach is hand picked – not only must they be champions in their respective sports, but also certified nationally or by Rippin Chix. Our coaching methodology is anything but conventional – be prepared for some foul language and loads of funny terminology. For skiing, this can mean “push the bush”, “squeeze the thong”, “serve the martinis” or getting rid of the “virgin clutch” or “too much Tits and Ass”. For Biking, get ready for “boobs to tubes” and “going anal” (sorry for that). Alison trains her coaches in her baby step methodologies, which enables even the most timid gal to conquer her fears. Rippin Chix believes that your confidence will grow and bloom if you are given and shown the proper toolbox of skills. Of course practice makes perfect, so be prepared to take your Rippin Chix camps skills and practice them for the rest of your life.
One camp with Rippin Chix should vault your skills to incredible levels, guaranteed. Gals often say that just a few hours taught them more than they could have learned in ten years.
Alison has appeared in many movies, TV shows, and Magazines receiving many awards for her work: Ski Magazine’s Ski Hero of the Year, National Geographic’s Woman Adventurer of the Year, Big Mtn Freeskiing Champion-Canada, South America+Japan, Powder Magazine’s “48 Greatest Skiers of All Time” Freeskier Magazine’s “FreeSkier of the Year” and Outside Magazine’s “Green All-Star of theYear” next to Leonardo DiCaprio and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Always an advocate of walking the talk, she has spent half a lifetime working to make the world a better place.
