Named Backcountry’s Top Five Women’s Camps 2016, TGR’s best camps 2015 and Best Gals Adventure 2014, Rippin Chix Steep Skiing Camps are no-frills affordable steep skiing/adventure/powder clinics for real girls and women skiers.
Learn air, straight lines, pillows, chutes, powder, trees, crud, roots, rocks, moguls, ice, bumps, and jump-turns with our unique baby-step teaching methodology. Expand your comfort zone, build a new toolbox, build your confidence. This is about as far from a traditional ski lesson as you can get – be prepared for some very un-PC coaching – such as ‘push the bush,’ ‘squeeze the thong,’ and ‘serve the martinis/pour the wine.’ All camps are taught by national and world champion chix coaches.
Alpine, Telemark, or AT skiers are welcome, with multiple levels for many types of skiers – from those that are scared but want to learn steep skiing, to charging rippers wanting to learn and/or perfect air.
Snowboarders are welcome at the Red Mountain Camp and the Whitewater Camp.
The “lower” group must be able to make 10 turns on an un-groomed black diamond and the “upper” group should be able to make ten turns on an un-groomed double black diamond. As for all camps, those turns don’t have to be pretty, as this is a camp to improve your technique and expand your terrain comfort zones. At each camp you may choose the lower or upper level based upon your confidence and skills, either in advance via email or the day of the camp.
Most camps have more affordable a-la-carte pricing, around $399-$500 for a two day camp which includes coaching, video and video analysis (weather depending). Lodging and lift tickets are not included, but usually available at great pricing for each camp. One exception, the Canadian Powder Cat Skiing Camp includes food, lodging, coaching, video and fat ski rentals.
Each camp guaranteed to change your life, or your money is refunded.
