Named Backcountry’s Top Five Women’s Camps 2016, TGR’s best camps 2015 and Best Gals Adventure 2014, this Rippin Chix Steeps+Powder camp will be located at one of my favorite resorts worldwide, at award-winning Whitewater Ski Resort right near my favorite ski town – Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. Both are easily accessible with affordable flights into Spokane USA. Rippin Chix Camps are no-frills affordable steep skiing/adventure/powder camps for real women skiers.
NEW: SNOWBOARDING w/Champion Kendra Starr.
Known for its legendary and usually abundant British Columbia powder, Whitewater is a real skiers dream with playful steeps, plentiful pillows, and evenly spaced trees with none of the icky tacky glitz that has overtaken many resorts. A new lift now accesses the formerly backcountry-only backside, enabling you to ski backcountry-like conditions, now, along with the safety of avalanche control. While we can never guarantee a powder camp, the Whitewater is the most likely Rippin Chix camp to have great snow for you to improve your powder skills and discover how to make pillows graceful, fun and effortless. Whitewater is easy to get to and affordable, with flights into Spokane, Washington USA and then a 3 hr drive north to Nelson, BC Canada.
These unforgettable technical tips and tactics will redefine your experience in pillows, powder, trees, crud, roots, rocks, moguls, ice, bumps, air, jump-turns, straight-lines and chutes. Expert champion chix coaching and video analysis will have you conquering your fears and expanding your comfort zones with our unique and unconventional baby-step skills progressions. And just a warning – we are known for being very upfront, graphic, silly, and visual, all in hopes of creating lasting memorable tools that you will unlikely ever forget. Our methodology is very un-PC and very un-ski-school, involving strange terminology like “squeezing the thong”, “serving martinis”, “pushing the bush”, and many more on our crazy fun skills list.
Snowboard, Alpine, Telemark, or AT skiers are welcome. Rations are never more than 6:1 or 7:2, and most camps are 12 gals maximum. Read our minimum requirements for this camp HERE. While your turns do not have to be pretty or confident, this should not be your first try at skiing ungroomed terrain. Ski fitness is a must for this camp – be ready to ski 3,000 foot long runs in powder, crud, trees and rocks all day long for two days in a row. Campers must meet our minimum requirements so that all will gain the maximum learning out of the camp.
The “lower” group must be able to make 10 consecutive turns on a ungroomed single black diamond and the “upper” group should be able to make ten turns on an ungroomed double black diamond. At each camp you may choose the lower or upper level based upon your confidence and skills, either in advance via email or the day of the camp.
This 2-day camp includes two full days of instruction and video analysis (weather dependent), with all National and World Champion Free-skiing women coaches. Guaranteed to change your life, or your money is refunded.
All Rippin Chix Camps are non-refundable and non-transferable, no matter the circumstance due to the fact that staff and travel must be booked almost a year in advance.

Rippin Chix is renowned for its unconventional, unforgettable, and unique teaching methods. This camp is about as far from traditional ski-school steeps lesson as one can get. Be prepared for graphic visuals – such as “serving martinis”, “pushing the bush” and “squeezing the thong”. It may not be PC, but you won’t find yourself forgetting your new ways to master the steeps. Upon registration, you will receive our exciting skills list, which we suggest printing and bringing in your jacket pocket with a pencil to take notes. One weekend will give you a lifetime of skills to perfect and improve upon.
Most camps will have a minimum of two ability/confidence levels decided by the participants themselves. We can accommodate gals that are petrified but willing to learn steeps to those at the upper levels wanting to learn how to win their first freeskiing competition. Lower group should be able to link 10 turns on a groomed black run, and the upper group should be able to link 10 turns on a ungroomed double black run and be wanting to push their limits. Progressions are taught with non-intimidating baby-step methods – how to catch air five different ways, how to ski faster/bigger turns and/or how to straight-line, how to hop turn in tight places and power slide and scrub speed in others, how to save energy, and how to tackle those yucky double-black entrances.
Spaces limited – register early a 6-1 group ratio is typical, with most camps at 12 gals max.
Also included in the camp – amazing trivia prizes from our sponsors: Osprey, and Elemental Herbs and Epic Bar. Visit these great websites and RippinChix.com to increase your chances of winning epic gear like Osprey Packs during the Green Trivia Contest!
